Asheville Montessori School

Sarah Dills

Lead Teacher

Hello! I’m Sarah Dills and I am so excited to be a part of the lead teaching staff here at Asheville Montessori.

I’m originally from Charlotte and moved to Asheville in 2004 when I started at UNC Asheville. When I graduated in 2008, I got an assistant teacher position at an arts based preschool program, and my life was forever changed at that point. I knew that I wanted to work with preschool aged children. I graduated from AB Tech with my Early Childhood Education degree in May of 2013 and was introduced to Montessori through my studies. It wasn’t until I visited this school that I had any idea how wonderful Montessori really is! I was impressed with how calm and engaged the children were and how the teachers looked relaxed and focused- a very different picture than what I was use to with other preschool classrooms.

I worked for two years as an assistant teacher and decided that I wanted to become a Montessori lead teacher. In June of 2015, I began my studies at the Center for Montessori Teacher Education of North Carolina earning my Early Childhood credential and graduated in May of 2016.

In my free time, I love to work in my garden and spend time with my husband Matt and our three cats.
