Travis Edwards – Floater
Hi, my name is Travis Edwards. I grew up in Miami, Florida and attended the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. I am very happy to be a part of the AMS family. I love helping students as they develop to their full potential. After finishing my degrees in English and Psychology, I lived overseas and taught English as a second language in the Austrian public school system and attended the English Teacher Training College of Austria. Upon returning to the states, I moved to Asheville and began the challenging, but rewarding, job of teaching at Eliada Home until I felt ready to move on.
I am drawn to AMS because I admire the cultivation of individuality and freewill in the classroom. I believe that the emphasis placed on peace and kindness during such a developmentally sensitive period is an important and joyful thing to be a part of. I often find myself smiling and laughing during my interactions with the children.
Outside of the classroom I’m usually cooking, reading, exercising, or doing yoga. I’m currently applying to local graduate programs for counseling and school counseling. I hope to work at AMS while completing my graduate degree. It has been a joy getting to know the children and staff at AMS!
